1. Peter¹ Barbour was born Meikle Gavan, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire 2nd March 1692.

He married Elizabeth Caldwell 14th February 1722. Elizabeth was born Lochwinnoch? c1701. Elizabeth was the daughter of William Caldwell and Jean Car. Elizabeth died c1762 Lochwinnoch, at 61 years of age.

Peter Barbour and Elizabeth Caldwell had the following children:

2 i. Peter² Barbour was born Muirdykes, Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire 20th August 1728. He married Janet King.

+ 3 ii. Robert Barbour was born 1738.
