9. John Joseph² Smith (William¹) was born Stepney ? 14th January 1843.

He married Eliza Ann Goodman St Matthew, Bethnal Green, 13th August 1865. Eliza was born in Hackney c1848. Eliza was the daughter of John Goodman.

John Joseph Smith and Eliza Ann Goodman had the following children:

13 i. Eliza Ann³ Smith was born in Hackney June 1866.

14 ii. John Edward Smith was born in Hackney 15th August 1867.

15 iii. George Frederick Smith was born in Hackney 6th July 1869.

16 iv. Emma Louisa Smith was born Homerton 1871. She married Henry King.

17 v. Edward William Smith was born Homerton 10th May 1876.

18 vi. Elizabeth Alice Smith was born Homerton 9th February 1878.

19 vii. Rosina Alice Smith was born No 35 Pratts Road, Lower Clapton, Hackney 4th October 1881. Rosina died Jun 1917 Edmonton, at 35 years of age. She married twice. She married Harry Hubert Patterson St Barnabas, Homerton, 17th May 1902. Harry was born Edmonton 16th December 1878. Harry was the son of John Thomas Patterson and Anne Eliza Burrows. Harry died Dec 1914 Edmonton, at 35 years of age. (See Harry Hubert Patterson for the continuation of this line.) She married Alexander Richard Haines The Register Office, Edmonton, 4th November 1916. Alexander was born Finsbury 7th August 1873. Alexander was the son of Wilson Haines and Eliza Jane ?.

20 viii. Florry Eliza Smith was born in Hackney 19th October 1883. Florry died 1886 at 2 years of age.

21 ix. Arthur Smith was born in Hackney 23rd February 1889.

22 x. Annie Smith was born in Hackney 1890.
