He married Jane Cox St James Trowbridge, 13th February 1817.

John Stone and Jane Cox had the following children:

2 i. Harriet Matilda² Stone (living status unknown).

3 ii. Esther Mary Stone was born Trowbridge/Bradford, Wilts 1819. Esther died 1886 Bath, at 67 years of age. She married James Davis Townsend St James, Trowbridge, 16th January 1840. James was born Melksham, Wilts 1814. James was the son of Henry Townsend and Ann Davis. James died 1888 Bath, at 74 years of age. (See James Davis Townsend for the continuation of this line.)

4 iii. Louisa Jane Stone was born Trowbridge, Wiltshire c1825.

5 iv. Caroline Pickard Stone was born Trowbridge, Wilts c1827. Caroline died June 1900 Croydon, at 72 years of age. She married twice. She married Henry Hurditch Stepney, Mar 1852. Henry died Sept 1857 Croydon. She married John Doughty Chelsea, June 1880. John was born Sharnbank, Beds 1821. John died June 1901 Barnstable, at 79 years of age.
